After some very difficult decision-making, we have selected the 10 dogs that will go through to our Cute Pets final – now it’s time for your CAT photos.
More than 300 snaps of picture-perfect pooches were submitted after we launched our search to find the south-east London and north Kent area’s most adorable animal.
Of course, we loved all the doggies who were entered into the competition by their proud owners, so it was no easy task picking only our absolute favourites to send into the final.
Using experience of what people have responded to best in previous contests and our eye for what counts as a cute picture that’s been honed over the years, we finally got there.
You can see the 10 that have been chosen in our gallery above.

Having finished with the dog photos, we’re now moving on to the second heat – and it’s the turn of the cats to shine.
Owners are invited to send us a snap of their feline friends if they think theirs is the area’s prettiest or most handsome cat – the animal whose photo will produce the longest ‘awww’ or the loudest squeals of delight from people.
As with the dogs, all the entries will be added to a gallery on our site.
After entry closes on June 1, we will choose our 10 favourite photos.
They will also go into the final, to be joined by other ‘miscellaneous’ animals selected from a third heat to come.
Our overall winner will be decided in a public vote – with £75 and much glory going to the owner of the champion pet, plus runners-up prizes up for grabs.
If you think your kitty is the cutest out there, send us a picture and details using the entry form here
To enter, you need to live within the News Shopper area (the boroughs of Bexley, Bromley, Dartford, Gravesham, Greenwich and Lewisham, plus certain other local places such as Swanley) and be at least 18 years old.
