Greenwich returns to the big screen this month in thriller Bastille Day, starring Idris Elba.
The Old Royal Naval College doubled-up for the streets of Paris during riot scenes filmed in November and December 2014.
Out on Friday, April 22, Bastille Day stars Game of Thrones’ Robb Stark, Richard Madden, as an American pickpocket living in London who finds himself at the centre of a CIA hunt when he steals a bag that contains more than just a wallet.
Luther star Elba – who plays Shere Khan in Disney’s live action Jungle Book remake (read the review here) – is the agent who uses Madden’s character to uncover a wider conspiracy.
Chessington-born actress Kelly Reilly (Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows, Calvary) also stars, reuniting with her Eden Lake director James Watkins.
Greenwich’s Old Royal Naval College has a rich history in the cinema, as one of the industry’s most popular locations. In recent years, it has had a starring role in Thor: The Dark World, The Dark Knight Rises, Skyfall, Les Miserables, Sherlock Holmes and Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides.
