A Thamesmead man is £1,000 worse off after being caught selling fake DVDs.

Hussain Shaney Mahoney, of Southmere Drive, narrowly avoided a six-month jail sentence because of his previous convictions for counterfeiting.

The 30-year-old was on a two-year conditional discharge when he committed the crimes last year.

Mahoney - also known as Mahoney Hussain, Shaney Mahoney Hussain, Hussain Shane Mahoney, Shane Mahoney and Shane Winston Mahoney - ran a 'business' out of his home address.

He was caught with two box sets, on May 21, which could be mistaken for the registered trademark of Beachbody LLC because of the misleading packaging.

Mahoney then listed a third box set for sale on June 18, which also had fake Beachbody LLC packaging.
