Comic books have probably never been as popular as they are now – every other blockbuster at the cinema started out at either Marvel or DC and now they are inspiring the small screen’s biggest hits with the likes of Daredevil, Jessica Jones and The Flash.

Sales of the source material are climbing all the time too – and if you are looking to stock up then you might want to pop in to one of these…

Kent Comics

High Street, Orpington

Resembling an old shed from the outside and tucked away off the bottom of the High Street, you would be forgiven for not realising Kent Comics is there. But you would be missing a vast warehouse of comic heaven, full to the brim with geeky goodness. They boast a stock of 100,000 with thousands of editions on display.

Piranha

High Street, Bromley

A little more modern feeling than its rival in the south of town, this store up by the cinema feels more spread out and organised with a vast catalogue of comics.

Vault Comics

Bellegrove Road, Welling

Not just a comic book store but a geek-friendly haven where you can pick up music and games and hang out. They also produce their own podcast, Enter the Vault.

Newsstand Comics

Home Gardens, Dartford

Next to the Orchard Theatre and opposite the train station, Newsstand doesn’t just stock the best in comics but also authentic US sweets. It started life as a market stall in 2013 before taking over its kiosk base in 2014.

* We were saddened to hear that Time Trek in Bromley High Street closed on February 29 after more than 25 years of trading.
