A lorry carrying wooden pallets overturned on an A2 London-bound slip road blocking Swanscombe traffic.
All drivers heading towards Northfleet yesterday afternoon had to wait while emergency services dealt with the overturned lorry in Southfleet Road.
The LGV, thought to be carrying a crane in order to lift its pallets, leaked oil and lane closures were enforced.
Any traffic expecting to exit on the A2260 at Ebbsfleet needed to find an alternative route.
Firefighters helped to make the scene safe by containing the oil and anti freeze spillage using environmental protection packs.
Kent Police said: "We were called at 12.29pm to a report that a lorry containing wooden pallets had overturned on Southfleet Road near the A2 Londonbound exit slip.
"There are no reported injuries.
"The A2 Londonbound slip road at Ebbsfleet is currently closed while the vehicle and its debris are recovered."
