A woman has photographed a spooky apparition emerging from the waters of one of the lakes in Kelsey Park.

The spectre was snapped on the first weekend of January by Jean Gill, who was at the park feeding the ducks with her grandchildren.

Ms Gill only became aware later, after showing the photo to friends, that a Victorian woman is said to have drowned there.

The 65-year-old, from Elmers End, told News Shopper: "It was the Sunday morning and I'd taken the grandchildren there for a walk and to feed the ducks.

"It wasn't until I got home and looked at the photo that I noticed it.

"I couldn't believe it, it looked like someone was coming out of the water.

"Apparently there is a picture very similar to it in the waiting area at Beckenham Junction. A Victorian woman is supposed to have drowned there."
