Christmas shopping can get stressful, especially if you don’t know what you’re doing. Kim Lewis, John Lewis’ head of branch at Bluewater, shares her top tips for stress-free shopping.
- Write a gift list
Before heading out, make a list of the people you need to buy for so you don’t forget anyone! Plus, use ‘Click and Collect’ services for the items you definitely want and pick them up at the end of your shopping day, giving you more time to browse.
2. Get organised
For stress-free and easy shopping, take advantage of extended opening hours. Bluewater is open from 9am to 11pm in the run up to Christmas so guests can shop later for longer.
3. Ask the experts
Use gift guides for present inspiration and ask store staff for their help with narrowing down the options. John Lewis has dedicated ‘gift guide’ Partners (staff) to assist you in finding the perfect present for a loved one.
4. Be prepared
Make sure your home is fully equipped to cope with the extra guests arriving over the festive period.
Purchase inflatable beds and spare bedding plus extra place settings and seating to ensure your loved ones are comfortable and catered for.
5. Dress to impress
Take time to plan your party wear to ensure you dazzle at the office party, festive drinks or on Christmas Day.
Why not book an appointment with a personal stylist for a helping hand?
6. Take a break
All that shopping can be tiring so don’t forget to stop for a bite to eat to recharge your batteries?
