Departing the armed forces in 2012, the 36-year-old, who was born in Greenwich and grew up in Bexleyheath, went to work in finance and claims this left him feeling anxious and deflated.

He said: "My time in the army, especially touring Afghanistan and Iraq was intense and emotional - we lost a lot of people."

The experienced soldier, who now lives in Canning Town, told News Shopper he had to do something to restore balance and eradicate his angst.
