The mother of a teenager killed in a motorcycle crash in Mottingham has said she is 'lost without him'.

Ashlee Fowler, 18, died last Monday (August 24) when the motorcycle he was a pillion passenger on crashed into a central reservation.

Paramedics from the London Ambulance Service (LAS) treated the teenager after the smash in Mottingham Road, near Kingsley Wood Drive, but he died at the scene.

A Facebook page and separate memorial page have been set up in his memory.

On Facebook his mother, Barbara Ogrady, wrote: "R.I.P to my son Ashlee I'm going to be lost without you.

"Missing you so much son love you so much it's hurting it’s breaking my heart."

His family laid flowers at the site on Tuesday with a note reading: "To my loving son, I'm lost for words.

"Love you lots from your mum, nan and your brother, sister."

Another man, 17, was taken as a priority to St George’s Major Trauma Centre with multiple injuries.

The teenager, believed to be the rider, is said to be in a serious but stable condition.

Nearby residents and witnesses have claimed neither teen was wearing a helmet.

Shirley Copeland, 71, of Mottingham Road, described hearing an almighty crash before people ran to help.

She said: "I could hear the boy crying out in pain, he was going ‘oh oh oh’.

"People were helping by directing the traffic."

Mrs Copeland, who’s lived there for more than 50 years, added: "They’ve been going up and down here in-between the traffic.

"They weren’t wearing helmets.

"This is the worst accident we’ve had.

"Someone was there about 9.30pm washing the blood off the road."

The street was cordoned off between Dunkery Road and Chapel Farm Road, where the shattered bike and a tent could be seen.

A neighbour, who did not want to be named, said: "We heard a big bang, a massive crash.

"It shook the windows.

"We saw this mangled wreckage across the road, my wife ran across with some blankets."

The 71-year-old added: "I heard they weren’t wearing helmets.

"The bodies were roughly 10ft forward, they were lying there in the middle of the road.

"Apparently it hit the central reservation; they knocked the left bollard flat and hit the black post as well.

"The bike was destroyed."

Police are appealing for witnesses after the fatal smash, specifically a minicab driver who may have seen the incident.
