A true and very personal story about the potentially devastating BRCA1 gene is one of seven shows being taken by Greenwich Theatre to the Edinburgh Festival this month (5-31 August). But the award-winning Lost Watch theatre company report that Goodstock is “definitely not a sob story. It’s very informative but also funny and entertaining”.

James Haddrell, Greenwich Theatre’s executive and artistic director, describes Lost Watch as a classic example of the kind of company the theatre wants to work with. “We saw their award-winning show Kate at Edinburgh last year and immediately started a conversation about working together,” said James.

“Lost Watch’s show is a combination of a gig, a strand-up comedy routine and a piece of drama, which is really exciting. We’re always excited to find those young emerging companies who are pushing the boundaries of theatre.

“The plan is to transfer it back to Greenwich next January. This is how we use Edinburgh. We pilot work and if it goes well we bring it back to our local audience.”
