A 'violent man' armed with a knife injured two officers during a struggle with police in Abbey Wood last night (July 24).
The 36-year-old remains in a central London hospital after he was arrested by officers called to reports of a man armed with a knife in Overton Road at around 6.30pm.
Police and ambulances were seen blocking off part of Harrow Manor Way opposite the Barge Pole pub.
A Met Police spokesman said London Ambulance Service attended to treat the man's injuries but he refused medical attention.
The spokesman said: "The detained man resisted arrest and additional officers were deployed to constrain the violent man.
"Two police officers were injured during the arrest. Both were offered medical treatment and have returned to operational duty."
