A Bromley pensioner who died after she was struck by a car knew the man behind the wheel, police say.
The 75-year-old woman had earlier been a passenger in the car driven by a 71-year-old Beckenham man, which knocked her down in a car park off Old Dover Road in Canterbury.
The Mercedes C220 also hit several parked cars during the crash outside Canterbury’s St Lawrence Cricket Ground on June 27.
Paramedics rushed the elderly woman to a south London hospital in a critical condition but she died late last week.
No arrests have been made and police enquiries are ongoing following the collision, which happened during the Ashes warm-up match between Australia and Kent.
Sergeant Glyn Walker said: “We would particularly like to thank those members of the public who tried to help the lady before the arrival of the ambulance service.
“The incident did present difficulties for those trying to leave the Kent v Australia cricket game, and the patience of the public so affected was appreciated by officers managing the scene.”
Anyone who witnessed the collision and has not spoken to police is asked to contact the Serious Collision Investigation Unit on 01622 798538 or email sciu.td@kent.pnn.police.uk.
