Greenwich Council has hailed test results as proof the borough’s primaries are outperforming others across the country.
According to the government figures, 87 per cent of Greenwich 11-year-olds achieved the high standard Level 4 in reading, writing and maths, compared to 79 per cent nationally last year.
Last year, stats showed more five-year-olds in Greenwich were achieving expected levels of development than anywhere in the country.
This time around, 77 per cent of students achieved the expected level of social and intellectual development, compared with a national rate of 60 per cent last year.
Deputy Leader of Greenwich Council and Cabinet Member for Children’s Services Councillor John Fahy said: "These are excellent results and show that our primary schools are continuing to do exceptional work in bringing out the very best from our young people.
"It is particularly pleasing to see how well our high-ability pupils are performing."
