A library managed to pull off a feat which looks well beyond Charlton and Millwall – bringing the Premier League trophy to south east London.
The rare sighting of the silverware, won by billionaire oligarch Roman Abramovich’s Chelsea last season, occurred in Crofton Park.
And library staff say hundreds of people turned out to get their hands on the trophy, posing with it for photos at the Brockley Road venue.
Darren Taylor from Eco Computer Systems said: "We had over 800 people attend. They were amazed to have it in their local library."
Mr Taylor’s social enterprise saved Crofton Park library and two others from closure in 2011, taking the buildings over after Lewisham Council budget cuts.
