A baby has been taken to hospital following a suspected chemical leak in Plumstead.
Fire crews helped seven people out of the terraced house in Coxwell Road yesterday (July 14) around 8pm after a suspected leak of refrigerant gas from a freezer caused panic.
The five adults, a child and a baby waited outside the house while fire crews checked the building for chemicals.

Watch Manager John Newing who was at the incident said: “Fire crews used specialist equipment to sweep the building for elevated levels of hazardous chemicals as a precautionary measure, but no elevated levels were found.
"The adults and the child were soon able to return to their home and the baby was taken to hospital by the London Ambulance Service for precautionary checks.”
Two fire engines and 10 firefighters and officers from Plumstead and East Greenwich fire stations dealt with the suspected leak.
