Commuters and shoppers have reacted angrily to 'ridiculous' car parking charges in North Greenwich.
Drivers using the NCP car park at North Greenwich have to pay £11 to park all day, and some customers who have been unable to find a space still have to pay the fare.
The NCP car park at Greenwich is the most expensive London Underground car park and drivers feel this is unfair.
Angela Lowther, 47, of Main Road, Crockenhill, North Kent, said: "When I looked online at other NCP London Underground car parks, I noticed that North Greenwich is by far the most expensive, where the others have an average of £5.
"I strongly feel the commuters parking at North Greenwich to commute via the Jubilee line to Canary Wharf are being exploited.
"We have nowhere else to park to catch the tube, and they know this, it’s as if they're assuming that everyone who works across the river earns a huge salary, so won't question the extortionate charges."
Tina Purcell, 36, of Horn Link Way, Greenwich agreed with Ms Lowther.
She said: "It's ridiculous the amount of money you have to pay here, everyone I know has complained about it.
"One man just came in here to drop someone off at the station and had to pay the full fee, it's ridiculous."
Shopper Julie O'Rourke, 48, of Half Way Street, Sidcup, couldn't find a parking space and after giving up and going to a different car park, she discovered that she had to pay the full fare.
She said: "I've now paid double, it's an absolute scam.
"There is nobody here to talk to and you cannot see the machines because of the sun on them."
The other car park at the O2 charges similar fees, with a minimum charge of £5 for two hours .
Peter Heyburn, of Downs Road, Kent, said: "For people that want just a short stop, £11 is a joke.
"I don't often come to this area, but it's not competitive like other shopping places."
News Shopper contacted North Greenwich NCP London Underground car park and are still awaiting a response.
