The Woodville, Gravesend celebrated the opening night of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat last night (April 28).
If two former X Factor contestants, an Eastenders’ star and a coat of many colours isn’t enough to tickle your fancy, News Shopper’s A – Z of reasons not to miss it might tempt you to join Jacob’s sons for a sing along:
A – Amelia Lily. The blonde songstress came third on the X Factor in 2011 and proves she hasn’t lost her talent as the all-important narrator.
B – Brothers. Joseph’s 11 brother’s don’t take kindly to his dreams but the audience certainly enjoyed their singing and dancing skills.
C- Camels. Giant, singing camels.
D – Dreams. Dreams are what get Joseph into trouble in the first place – and out of trouble again – with some very well known songs performed in the process.
E – Eastenders. Eastenders’ Matt Lapinskas gives a great performance as the Pharaoh.
F – Family. Joseph is a real family show – everyone from tots to Grandmas enjoyed the opening night.
G – Go Go Go Jo. The catchiest song in the show will be stuck in your head for days.
H – Hatty Collier. News Shopper reporter, Hatty Collier described the show as: “For someone who has never watched Joseph before or been to see a musical in a while, I thoroughly enjoyed it and found it really cheerful and uplifting.”
I – Ice cream. The Woodville serves up a great selection of ice cream at the interval J – Joseph. The part is played brilliantly by Lloyd Daniels.
