The Bexley Bangladeshi Woman’s Association hosted a celebration of women, and of their 10th anniversary, on Saturday (April 18).
The Mayor of Bexley Coun Howard Marrinar and Mayoress Mrs Dianne Marriner were chief guests at the event.
They were joined by PPCs James Brokenshire (Old Bexley and Sidcup) and David Evennett (Bexleyheath and Crayford), and Sharifa Khan of the Bangledesh High Commission.
Guests at the Danson Youth Centre event, on Brampton Road in Bexleyheath, were entertained with Bangladeshi dance and music.
Chair of the woman’s association Mrs Rashid said: “The event was brilliant and a great success.
“I am absolutely delighted to see so many people from all communities enjoying the event.”
The event was sponsored by the Big Lottery Fund.
