A disused nail bar in Blackfen has reopened as a micropub.
The Broken Drum in Westwood Lane welcomed its first customers on Friday (April 17) and serves real ales, wine and cider but not spirit or lager.
Its name is inspired the tavern in Terry Pratchett’s Discworld series of books.
MORE FOOD AND DRINK NEWS:
The pub was the dream of dad-of-three former computer programmer Andy Wheeler, 57, from Bexleyheath who told News Shopper last month: “I have wanted to open a mircopub ever since I visited various micropubs in the Kent area.
“I love my real ale and have been an active member of Bexley CAMRA for several years. So when I became redundant, opening my own micropub became my next life challenge.”
