It's been a busy start to the year for Thamesmead police, who made 24 arrests for drug and weapon possession, animal cruelty and immigration offences in the last two months.
Officers arrested individuals for growing cannabis, as well as possession of cocaine, cannabis and methamphetamine in January and February.
Cannabis production stopped in its tracks
A total of 61 home and street searches led to 10 arrests for drug offences and four cannabis warnings.
Police seized thousands of pounds worth of cannabis and amphetamines from properties in Coralline Walk, Tunstock Way and Thistlebrook estate, as well as £2,000 in cash.
Two knives were seized during weapon sweeps on the Lesnes to Crossness path.
As part of their 'Street a week' campaign, Thamemead officers are visiting residents to provide crime prevention and security advice.
They have visited houses in Abbey Road, Fendyke Road, Coptfield Drive, Dalberg Way, Overton Road, Lanridge Road, Fossington Road, West Heath Road, Glenview, Rushdene and Overton road and more roads will be covered in the near future.
