Extra parking spaces have been made available for weekend Christmas shoppers in Bexleyheath.
The car park at the rear of the Civic Offices in 2 Watling Street can be used by shoppers every Saturday and Sunday until the New Year.
It will be open on Saturdays from 8am to 6pm and on Sundays from 9.30am to 4.30pm on December 13 and 14, December 20 and 21 and December 27 and 28.
The car park is within walking distance of the town centre and can be accessed from Erith Road.
It offers 90 spaces and eight disabled bays. Volunteers will ask those who use the car park to make a donation to the Greenwich and Bexley Community Hospice.
Fewer parking spaces than normal are available in the town centre this Christmas due to building works - contractors are in the final stages of demolishing the old Civic Offices in the Broadway and work is about to start on the construction of a new Lidl supermarket on the old Honda garage site.
Coun Don Massey said: "We know that parking will be in short supply until the two sites in the Broadway are redeveloped and we wanted to do something to help.
"Making our car park available at weekends is the best option and we hope it will help shoppers and the Hospice."
