Each week I use this space to share my five thoughts – the good, the bad and the ugly.
But I’m not selfish, so I’m also very happy to donate the space to guest writers to have their say. Write to me using the details below.
1. What should you do when you witness someone in a car park drive into and damage another car? I ask because I am reliably informed this is not a crime in a private car park. They did not leave a note and just drove off. For the record, it was a Bexley car park at 9.45am and T848 KHD drove into LV57 BVM. I think it had CCTV.
2. While we are on the subject of cars and the law, the new non-disc system may well be a technological advance, but somehow my lease company failed to remember to tax my vehicle, though I am still liable. I am now in a hire car – anyone else got a new Fiat 500L? The speedo and other dials are totally obscured behind the wheel, talk about poor design.
3. Is it just me, or do the dual buttons on new toilet sytems confuse other people too? I have to assume one is an eco-friendly water saving option, but no one seems to know which is which. As a result you flush at least 1.5 times to avoid leaving any evidence that might identify your mistake to future users. So, not eco-friendly after all.
4. And, because Christmas is arriving earlier it’s already secret Santa time in the office. Anyone got any ideas? Apparently last year’s goldfish was not considered “appropriate”.
5. At home it’s always the teaspoons that go missing. In the office we’re snowed under with them. But forks... no chance. Do charity shops sell cutlery these days?
