Tonight’s the night that film stars from south east London could walk off with awards glory and you can watch it all live here.
Local talent Timothy Spall, his son Rafe, and Sally Hawkins are all nominated for awards at tonight’s British Independent Film Awards, which are set to get underway at 6pm, presented by The Inbetweeners star Simon Bird.
Forest Hill actor Timothy Spall is nominated for Best Actor for his turn as artist JMW Turner in Mike Leigh’s Mr Turner, while the feature itself is up for the coveted Best Picture gong.
Timothy’s son, New Cross-educated Rafe Spall is nominated in the Best Supporting Actor category for his role in X+Y about a child maths whizz.
His co-star in the film, Blackheath’s Sally Hawkins is nominated for Best Supporting Actress.
Other films and stars nominated for awards include Benedict Cumberbatch and The Imitation Game, Keira Knightley, Imelda Staunton, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Jon Ronson, Cara Delevingne and Michael Fassbender.
