A man who stabbed and threatened to kill his ex-girlfriend's boyfriend has been jailed for eight years.
Mark Wright, 36, of Sandpit Road in Lewisham was found guilty of grievous bodily harm with intent at Woolwich Crown Court on Friday (November 28).
Wright attacked the victim with two knives, causing numerous lacerations to the victim's head, arms and torso.
The victim, a 30 year-old man who was in a relationship with Wright's ex-girlfriend, had gone to his cousin's flat in Deptford on July 22 last year, where Wright was waiting for him in a communal area.
After being taken to hospital the victim was able to identify Wright as his attacker and told police about a number of incidents where Wright threatened to kill him if he didn't end his relationship with his ex girlfriend.
Following a media appeal Wright, was found by a News Shopper reader spotting him in a Wednesday list and was arrested on October 12 and charged later that day.
Detective Constable Abraham Pino said: "Wright is a very violent man and the sentence he has received reflects the danger he poses.
"This was a thorough investigation by Operation Trilogy Unit and shows the commitment and resilience in ensuring justice is served."
