On October 26th 2014 the ‘Have a Cuppa! Tea Party Fundraiser’ was held at the Hope Community Seventh-Day Adventist Church Hall in Beckenham. The event was organsied by Tris-ann McKoy, Ann Pearce and Olga Vernon in aid of the MacMillan Cancer Support, Lymphoma Association and Cancer Research UK charities. The event was an unparalled success as over £598 was raised for the three charities.
If you love cakes from the traditional, cream, chocolate, Wheat & Gluten Free, West Indian and so so much more it was there to be had or taken away for secret indulgence. Because it was a Tea Party there were also sandwiches, homemade lemonade and a variety of teas from which to choose. The best part of all was that you had the added satisfaction of knowing that your reasonable financial contribution was going to a worthy cause, fighting cancer.
The trio would also like to thank Hannah from Macmillan Cancer Support who joined in with the proceedings and delivered an informative talk on the work of Macmillan Cancer Support. We salute the ladies and men who made the delicious cakes and all the helpers for without you this would not have been a success.
