A 48-year-old who went missing from a Woolwich psychiatric unit will appear in court today (December 2) charged with 11 offences.

Paul Williams, of no fixed abode, walked out of the Stadium Road facility on November 28 at 11.45am and was eventually arrested on December 1 in Clapham.

Williams has now been charged with a string of offences, including aggravated burglary, two counts of blackmail, theft and possession of an offensive weapon.

He also faces charges of cannabis possession, common assault, three counts of criminal damage and motor vehicle interference.

He is due to appear at Bromley Magistrates' Court today.
