Detectives investigating a reported sexual assault in Gravesend have released an e-fit image of a man they want to talk to.
It is alleged on 21 November, at around 5.30pm, a woman was in The Avenue, Gravesend, when she was approached from behind and sexually assaulted by a man.
When the victim, in her 30s, challenged him, he claimed he thought she was somebody else.
She believes he had been following her along her journey, which took her from Darnley Road to Pelham Road before she entered The Avenue.
The suspect is described as an Asian man in his 40s with a round, chubby face. It is thought he may have been wearing dark clothing.
The victim has been able to complete an e-fit image and officers would like anyone who might recognise the man in the image to come forward.
Investigating officer Detective Constable Debbie Cummings of Kent Police, said: “We've been following a number of lines of enquiry in the investigation thus far and I feel confident that the man in this image might hold information that could assist us.
“I'd ask anybody with any information to call me on 01474 366221, quoting crime reference XY/041230/14.
“Alternatively, to remain anonymous, call Kent Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.”
