Two pedestrians were hurt when they were hit by a car in Gravesend yesterday afternoon.

The crash happened in Milton Road at the junction with Albion Road at shortly before 2.40pm.

The two pedestrians were taken to hospital with injuries not thought to be life-threatening and the road was closed for nearly two hours, reopening again at 4.35pm.

Amelia Rayfield, 32, has lived in nearby Park Place for 14 years.

The care worker and mother-of-four told News Shopper: “I just saw all the cars turning around in the road.

“Even afterwards when I was standing outside a shop talking to a friend of mine, two or three kids ran out into the road.

“How stupid can you get? It’s not just the driver’s fault but it’s ridiculous how people use that road like it’s a drag race.”

The crash happened just yards from where 34-year-old Stela-Maria Hurmuzache-Anpohe was hit by a Mercedes and killed on November 15.

A man in his 20s was hit by a bus in the same road on Thursday.
