A list of the most bizarre items left on coaches has been released, showing how some people go the extra mile on forgetfulness beyond the usual mobile phones and keys.
These seven weird things have all become lost property after passengers travelled with National Express.
- A 10-legged giant crab was taken on board by a Chinese couple who could not speak English and who had bought a child's ticket for the crustacean. After it was found left behind, a special coach was chartered to drop the crab off at the end of Blackpool Pier on the advice of marine biologists.
- A false leg had been worn, and subsequently removed, by a passenger who disembarked without it.
- A set of mountain bikes were left in their boxes.
- A signed photograph of pop star Justin Bieber was left on a coach returning from a gig at Wembley Stadium.
- A pair of full-sized feathered Native American head dresses were abandoned.
- A bag containing two lime green ‘mankinis’ and an oversized 40th birthday badge was, quite possibly deliberately, left behind.
- A small furry mouse-like creature native to Chile called a degu was found on a coach.
What’s the strangest thing you’ve come across that someone’s left behind on public transport? What did you do with it? Have you ever panicked over leaving something special or valuable behind on your travels, and did you get it back? Add your comments below.
