Bromley police are urging the community to make a disadvantaged child’s Christmas by donating a new toy or gift to their festive appeal.
To donate, residents can collect a tagged ribbon from a Christmas tree unveiled outside Bromley police station on Wednesday (November 20).
The suggested spend for a gift is no more than £20 and presents should be donated on or before 8 December.
The Salvation Army will deliver the presents as part of their annual ‘Give a gift and light up a life at Christmas’ appeal.
Bromley borough commander Chief Superintendent Chris Hafford said it was a really simple way to get into the Christmas spirit.
He said: "It will have a really positive impact on a child who may otherwise receive little or nothing this Christmas.
"We've already had gifts donated the community, police officers and staff from Bromley police. I think it's fair to say that Christmas has started!"
Residents can also email PY-ChristmasTreeProject@met.police.uk for more details.
