Considering the length of time it takes just to log in and check, it’s hardly surprising a staggering 44 per cent of people are often unaware of what is in their bank account.

Just under a quarter admit to checking their accounts less than once a week allowing no time for mindful budgeting or preparation when making payments.

But more than half (51 per cent) said if they had easy and instant access to check their account they’d check it more often.

With that in mind, Nationwide Building Society has launched a new smartwatch app, giving consumers the ability to check account balances easily and quickly on the go.

The launch of the app will give customers access to their accounts anytime, anywhere and just at the touch of a button.

It includes the Quick Balance feature which allows customers secure immediate access to their account balance helping members keep on top of their finances.
