Thousands of rail commuters have endured travel chaos today, all due to a fire alarm sounding in a chemist's shop.
The alarm led to the evacuation and closure of Victoria station at the heart of the morning rush hour.
A number of trains were cancelled and delays were expected to last until at least 10am.
Many people were struck on trains waiting to get into Victoria, while some services terminated at other stations.
A Network Rail spokesman said: "We understand the alarm sounded after there was a fault in a chiller cabinet at Boot's at Victoria."
The station later reopened but passengers were being warned to expect delays to continue.
