A second Mottingham house plagued by moped-riding youths has been boarded up after residents suffered abuse, threats and intimidation.

Bromley Magistrates’ Court granted a closure order for 13 King and Queen Close after the local community complained about extreme anti-social behaviour.

Residents reported youths on mopeds arriving at the house at all hours and allegedly dealing drugs from the address.

A house in Horley Road, Mottingham, was shut down in late October after residents suffered similar abuse.

Mottingham and Chislehurst North Safer Neighbourhoods team, Bromley Council and A2Dominion housing association sought the court order after receiving complaints.

The closure order under the Anti Social Behaviour Crime and Policing Act 2014 means no-one is allowed into the house for three months.

Bromley police borough commander Chief Superintendent Chris Hafford said the property had been at the heart of serious anti-social behaviour over many months.

He said: “The police, council and housing association worked with local residents who were prepared to make statements and stand up to anti-social behaviour on the estate and assist us in obtaining the closure order on the address.

“This sends a clear message that acts of persistent and serious anti-social behaviour will be dealt with swiftly and very decisively using all legislation available to us."

Bromley Council's executive member for public protection and safety, Councillor Tim Stevens said: “We will continue to stamp out serious anti-social behaviour and we want people who commit such acts in Bromley borough to be in no doubt about the action we will take."
