Welling schoolboy Charlie Jones’ X Factor dream continues as his band Stereo Kicks made it through to next week...despite mentor Louis still struggling with their names.
The eight piece sang Bobby Darin's Mack The Knife as the finalists took on Big Band week.
Judge Simon Cowell praised the group’s great vocals but they didn’t get away without some stinging words from Mel B, who said they struggle to be identifiable.
And you have to admit, it doesn’t look good when your own mentor needs a cheat sheet to remember your names.
Simon put Louis on the spot, asking him to name all eight members of Stereo Kicks – who include Wilmington Grammar pupil Charlie, 14, from Welling.
Louis rattled through their names but Mel B spotted the suspicious paper on his desk.
Ultimately it didn’t matter as the group marched on to fight another day, with Jay James losing out after a sing-off with Stevi Richie.
After the result, Charlie tweeted:
Thank you guys for all your votes!!! It means so much!!! ❤️❤️❤️
