Police broke up a party attended by around 200 teenagers in Eltham last night (November 14).
Met Police officers were called to Elibank Road at 7.55pm to reports of a large gang of youths in the area.
Teenagers began throwing things at police officers before continuing their gathering in Glenesk Park.
A police helicopter and a dog unit were called in to help disperse the group and a 16-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of affray and taken to a South London police station.
A group of between 40 and 50 revelers then left the park, going to McDonald's in Eltham High Street.
Crowds of youngsters were also spotted in Westmount Road and Earlshall Road.
Ben Williams, aged 16, who travelled to the party from his home in Sidcup told News Shopper that the teens had been at a house which was relatively calm until some other weren't able to get inside.
He said: "It was just a party that was chill then people couldn't get in so the police were called cause they made noise or something."
The teenager described the incident as 'pretty jokes.'
Former Greenwich Councillor, Nigel Fletcher said the 'disturbance' was happening outside his flat on Westmount Road.
He went on to describe scenes as 'dramatic.'
Mr Fletcher said: "The first I knew of it was when I heard a disturbance outside and just saw hordes of teenagers outside our flats, and a large police presence just up the road.
"The police helicopter was hovering above, and shining its spotlight down on the crowd – it was all very dramatic.
"The youths were quite rowdy and we didn’t know what was going on – it’s usually a very quiet area."
Mr Fletcher also paid tribute to Greenwich police for their 'swift' response.
Eltham resident took to Twitter and Facebook to discuss the uproar.
