A Penge man has appeared in court charged in connection with an arson attack on a betting shop.
Simon Kerslake, aged 49, of Bredhurst Close, appeared at Bromley Magistrates’ Court this morning (November 14) accused of arson with intent.
Emergency services were called to Ladbrokes in High Street, Penge, at 11.51pm on November 1 to reports of a fire.
A rubbish pile had gone up in flames underneath a fire exit at the back of the property, causing substantial damage.
Kerslake was remanded in custody to appear at Croydon Crown Court on November 28.
