A call has gone out for volunteers to go into Greenwich primary schools and help pupils read.
Born to Read, run in partnership by charities Beanstalk and Save the Children, sees volunteers trained to visit schools twice a week during term time.
Headteacher at St Joseph’s School in Greenwich Catherine Green said: "Beanstalk are very valuable to St Joseph’s School. They support vulnerable readers who do not always have the opportunity to read for a variety of reasons.
"Beanstalk volunteers are always consistent and of a high quality."
