Cinema-goers are used to seeing Jude Law in romantic leads or emotionally-wrought roles but in new film Black Sea he plays the captain of a treasure hunting submarine with a thick Scottish accent.
Directed by The Last King of Scotland’s Kevin Macdonald, the film stars Blackheath-raised Law as a submarine captain who takes a job with a shadowy backer to hunt for a submarine rumoured to be loaded with gold in the depths of the Black Sea.
The movie, due for release on December 5, was filmed partly on a disused Russian submarine in north Kent’s Thames Estuary.
