Police have revealed a 22-year-old has been arrested and bailed over the murder of Olamide Fasina in Thamesmead.
Olamide, known to friends as Ben or Trigger, was attacked by an armed gang near Wolvercote Road at 2.10pm on October 14.
The 25-year-old was stabbed once in the heart and died at the scene.
One week after the killing, police revealed today (October 22) that a man was arrested on suspicion of murder last Friday.
He has been bailed to return to a south London police station later this month.
Last night, Mr Fasina's family held a candle-lit vigil at the scene.
Detective Chief Inspector Russell Taylor, who is leading the investigation for the Homicide and Major Crime Command, said: "We would like to hear from anyone who was in the area and may have seen either the build-up to this incident or the aftermath following the assault.
"There would have been a significant number of people around at this time of day and I would urge anyone who can assist this investigation to contact the incident room without delay."
Officers know the victim was with a group of friends and associates that day and are keen to speak to anyone yet to come forward.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the incident room on 020 8721 4868, dial 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
Police will be holding a meeting with the local community on Saturday (October 25) from 4pm to 7pm at The Atrium, Teeswater Court.
