83 per cent of pet owners in London say their pet is equally, if not more, important than other family members.
57 per cent of pet owners say they buy luxury items such as treats and accessories for their pet at least once a month and 16 per cent admit to buying pet presents on a weekly basis. In contrast, only 23 per cent of pet owners say they treat their human other half every month and a mere 13 per cent on a weekly basis.
More than a third say their pet is their best friend.
28 per cent have obtained a pet because they felt they were a necessary addition to their family.
55 per cent of people in London allow their pet to sleep anywhere they want in the home.
