London’s top 5 favourite restaurant cuisines:
- Indian
- British
- Chinese
- Italian
- Greek
Across the UK overall, British cuisine is the favourite restaurant choice followed by Indian and Italian.
Top 3 things that would make people in London dine out more often are: A good deal (50 per cent), a new venue opening (25 per cent), a new menu (20 per cent).
More than three quarters of Londoners have a favourite local restaurant (higher than UK average of 72 per cent).
Londoners dine out "several times a week", higher than the UK average.
1 in 5 people in the UK (19 per cent) dine out a few times a month, but more Londoners (23 per cent) do so, 1 in 4 (25 per cent) Londoners like to dine out in their local area or town once a month.
Londoners are prepared to spend longer getting to a restaurant – 64 per cent would travel more than 20 minutes.
