36 per cent of teenagers say they have gone on to meet someone they've first interacted with while using social media.
25 per cent say they feel happier online than they do in real life.
One in eight teenagers says their online friends know them better than their real friends.
Half add it is important for them to check social media as soon as they receive a notification.
38 per cent say they have friends or followers online they have never met in person.
