Every day we pull some stats from a survey and say have a chat about the findings. Today: What we think about 'chuggers'.
4 in 10 of us refuse to stop and talk to high street charity workers.
Of those who do stop for street fundraisers, commonly known as ‘chuggers’, the average person is only willing to give up just under three minutes of their time before walking away.
London is one of the more patient cities among those surveyed in the UK. People in the capital are willing to spend 3min 17sec talking to fundraisers.
Common reasons given for not stopping for charity collectors include being too busy, fake friendliness and concerns over how fundraisers are paid.
