Rachel Hubbard of Deaf Umbrella Ltd was announced as Entrepreneur of the Year at the London Business Awards.
Deaf Umbrella were also Highly Commended for their Training & Development of staff.
The London Business Awards are organised by Prospects Business Support, part of the Prospects Group which provides a wide range of education, employment and training services in the UK and internationally.
More than 330 guests attended the ceremony and gala dinner, which was held at The Brewery, Chiswell Street, to hear the winners of each of the 11 categories, along with the overall London Business of the Year 2014, announced. Entertainment was provided by LED Drummers.
Rachel Hubbard of Deaf Umbrella Ltd beat off competition from more than 100 shortlisted companies to be selected by an independent judging panel made up of industry and business experts.
Rachel Hubbard, Director of Deaf Umbrella said: “What an amazing night, we are such a small fish in such a big pond yet we demonstrated that our training & development is to be Highly Commended within the London region; 32 boroughs!
"We work hard at Deaf Umbrella to promote talented people who are Deaf; my job is to find avenues with which to do that. It is an honour to receive such a prestigious award of the London Business Entrepreneur of the Year.
"I am very proud of myself and our team who bring us to such heights.”
