Over 180 locals, young and old, enjoyed a fun day out in a once neglected Penge park, which has seen a huge transformation in recent years.
The event, organised by Penge Green Gym, took place in Winsford Gardens, Garden Road, and activities included tai chi and bird box building.
Penge Green Gym is a spin-off from the Green Gym movement - the UK’s largest practical conservation charity - and aims to create a better environment for the local community and wildlife.

In the last three years its volunteers brought Winsford Gardens back to life with rose beds, wildflower meadows, hedgerows and herb gardens, and it is now viewed by locals as a hidden oasis.
Penge resident Brenda Little, who chairs the Penge Green Gym, said: "It was really lovely seeing so many people coming in to the gardens on the open day and enjoying such a peaceful and colourful natural environment.
"All the children seemed to have a great time doing the treasure hunt, making and painting bird boxes, making bird feeders, filling-up the insect hotel, and making bags and photo frames from re-cycled materials."
