An NHS trust has published a report following investigations into Jimmy Savile’s contact with Beckenham’s Bethlem Royal Hospital and others in the group.
South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust (SLaM) released ‘Investigation into the contact that Jimmy Savile had with the Bethlem Royal and Maudsley Hospitals' today (June 26).
It came alongside 28 other NHS hospitals across the country, which made public findings following information released by the Metropolitan Police in 2012.
The former BBC DJ is known to have visited Beckenham’s mental hospital site in Monks Orchard Road to open a new unit.
He is said to have sexually assaulted victims aged five to 75 throughout his career in show business, many of whom were in NHS hospitals.
However, no criminal behaviour by Savile was identified when he spent time at Bethlem.
The trust said in a statement: “There was no evidence of any allegation having been made or information suggesting any wrongdoing by Savile associated with this event.”
