Lewisham community projects are being given a total of £60,000 in funding after bidding for the cash.
The Lewisham Homes Community Fund out applicants through a Dragons' Den-style panel process to prove how their project would improve the community and increase safety.
Winners included the Thursday Club in Honor Oak, which was awarded £2,345 for social activities for the over-50s.
Beautiful Empowered and Me was given £5,000 for a summer programme aimed at educating, inspiring and empowering young women.
Inspiring Lewisham bagged £5,000 for a series of fashion, money, business and event management workshops while 15 communal gardens for estates across thr borough were also given money.
Chairwoman of Lewisham Homes' board Julia Cotton said: "It is great to see residents not only pitching their ideas in a formal setting, but having great success in running them and contributing a lasting impact in their communities.
"One of the real success stories is the popular Love2Dance workshops which attracted funding outside of the Community Fund to expand further this year."
