A 10-year-old from Bean is celebrating after scoring a training place at the prestigious Royal Ballet School.
Daniel Leigh, of Beacon Drive, auditioned with hundreds of other hopefuls for the Junior Associates place and will now spend 24 Saturday's next year training with some of the best dance teachers in the world at the London centre in Covent Garden.
The Bean Primary School pupil, who dreams of being a professional dancer when he grows up, said: "I am really excited and nervous at the same time to be going to Royal School of Ballet."
The Associate programme nurtures young, talented students between the ages of eight and 15 in pursuit of excellence in pre-vocational classical ballet training.
Daniel's dad, Stephen Leigh, 34, added: "Daniel tried many different extra-curricular activities including karate, football, judo, tennis but he didn’t really click with any of these so we suggested ballet.
"He gave it a go and took to it really well."
