The Crystal Palace Overground Festival (26-29 June, 2014) have added very special guest Tony Hatch to the Westow Park main stage line-up on Saturday 28 June.

The song writing legend, often referred to as the British Burt Bacharach, was responsible for composing, producing and arranging a string of International hits made famous by Petula Clark, Frank Sinatra, Dolly Parton, Ella Fitzgerald, Paul McCartney, Shirley Bassey and many more.

Tony said he is ‘delighted’ to perform at the Westow Park event which is being overseen by his son Darren, owner of SLR event production services, who are providing the main stage PA.

Previous guests to the festival have included Jim Bob, best known as the singer of indie band Carter The Unstoppable Sex Machine, and the comedian, author and broadcaster, Mark Steel.

With the line-up confirmed, the headliners of the Crystal Palace Overground Festival have been confirmed, with punk/folk rockers Saltdog heading to the main stage at Westow Park on 28 June.

Other confirmed bands and artistes include reggae influenced Keval, alternative folkster Stacey Cohen, singer songwriter and violinist Kit Rice, gutsy soulful singer songwriter Brooke Jazz Lawrence, rhythm and rhyme masters Vibe Machine, rock ‘n rolling rockabillies The Boom Boom Booms and eight-piece Afro-beat Soca fusion band, The Cracked.

Now in its 8th year, the Crystal Palace Overground Festival which is located in Crystal Palace and the Upper Norwood Triangle, is taking this year’s event to the next level with four days of festivities and 172 performers and artistes taking part.

The festival promises a jam-packed four days with something for everyone, including a table tennis competition, markets, spoken word, art trails, light shows, DJs, BBQs, barn dances, cider festival, comedy, sports, music, film, vintage and plenty more.

For families there’s a treasure hunt through Crystal Palace Park to the Magical Sprite Village where adventurers can follow a treasure map and try to find the hidden sprites. For younger children –aged three to six years- there’s the Toddle in the City treasure trail through the Triangle where children will be given a camera to snap any treasures they find.

Fringe events will be held around Crystal Palace and the Upper Norwood Triangle area in the run up to and during the big festival weekend.
