Delays are expected on Southeastern trains via Sidcup and Dartford due to a line-side fire near Crayford station.
Kent Fire and Rescue crews tackled the blaze - which saw 25 square metres of grass embankment next to the railway line destroyed - around 100 metres from the railway station in Lower Station Road.
A spokesman for the fire service said: "A call came through at 4.16pm.
"We worked with the railway company to isolate the power to the line and extinguished the fire using a hose reel.
"A stop call was put through at 4.58pm."
A spokesperson for Southeastern said: "There may be delays or diversions at short notice on services via Datford and Sidcup due to the line's power being switched off while the fire brigade work on the site.
"We hope to get this sorted as soon as possible."
